What IS The Value of a LIfe?

I think most people here will agree with me when I say, " The value of the life IS LIFE!"
so the king has no more value then the jester!

Then there is the another value. The value of experience, Knowledge, wisdom, but that is in relationship to what I am trying to do.
Example :If I want a house Built I go to a carpenter If a Dress a seamstress the value to me is based on the result I want.
But the value of the individual life is equal.
I have extended this idea to ALL( no exceptions).
I have no more value then the crazy alcoholic bleeding to death in the gutter, and no less then the Pope.
Not to be confused with the level at which the three of us experience and participate in LIFE!!!

There is no greater merit for humanity than valueing life. There is no greater test than securing life - and its antithesis is the excuse we must destroy life to save it from over population. In fact, the reverse is true.

Humanity cannot survive on this planet by ceasing the population growth - at best it can only defer the disaster ahead - think 500 or 5000 years from now? The population explosion is really the only thing which can save humanity - by making us to GO FORTH AND HAVE DOMINION OVER ALL THE WORLDS. Get it?

When your own body has a seperate life inside it, does your choice then trump that of the life inside?

Why?

Make all the choices about your body you deem appropriate. Just make sure you do not kill anyone in the process. At that point in time your choice infringes on the rights of someone else and your freedom to choose just may have a consequence.

I think we all can agree on the value. We disagree on the fundamental question of "What is life?" Defining it is much more difficult that placing value on it.

Why?

We believe the zygote/embryo/fetus is not life until it can live outside of the womb. A dependant part of your body is not granted the same rights as you - a living, breathing, cognitive person. To us, it's not a seperate life.
