I am not so sure if FDR's policies prolonged the depression hence history tells us that GDP rates went up before 1940...

Although there are many different ideas as to what would have caused the Great Depression, one of the documented and established truths and consensus to modern economics is that it was due to blank banking practices due to major deregulation and also enormous income
