A Small Mystery Resolved

Aldaqisa Ant, a nursery worker, and Aldaqisa Ant, a soldier, were conversing in a tunnel near Queen Aldaqisa's chamber.

The nursery worker remarked as she cleaned her antennae, "We've heard down here in the nursery that it smells like rain topside. We hope the colony doesn't flood."
"No need for concern," replied the soldier casually as a third ant approached, "We've got everything under control. Our colony is in no danger."
"Well," said the nursery worker, reassured, "We know things will be fine with our soldiers on the job."
The third ant stopped, listening, then said, "I'm not sure that's true. I've been topside, and the clouds look very angry."
The soldier looked impassively at the newcomer, then at the nursery worker. "Excuse us," it said. Then, faster than a faceted eye could follow, it snapped its head forward and, with lightning jaws, clipped the newcomer's head from its body which dropped to the floor of the tunnel, curling and twitching in its death throes.
"Bless us!" cried the nursery worker to the soldier. "Why??"
    "Parasite infestation." said the soldier.
"Oh," observed the nursery worker, "Right. Good call then. We suppose break-time is over. Time to get back to the young ones."
"Yes. Time for us to get back on patrol. There may be more of us infested about, so we have to be vigilant. Solidarity."
    "Solidarity, Aldaqisa."

Nope, too specific. Think more generally, thematically. Wink

The question is: How did Aldaqisa the soldier know the newcomer was harboring a parasite?
