I have to say with the release of Cata World of Warcraft has me sold. I am a Wrathbaby and when I started the game was so easy I almost quit. The quest lines are fun and some are down right hilarious. Have 2 85's and 3 in the 50's or higher. Right now i'm learning the finer points of PvP. I play my rogue mostly though and he is Ally. My other 85 toon is an Orc Huntard.

As for other MMOs has anyone here ever tried Aeon? I guess it's ranked number 2 after WOW.  I did try RIFT on a friends account but it doesn't seem to be the game I was hoping it would be.

I never did try Aion.  Heard too many people got bored with it too fast.  They'd leave WoW for a couple weeks then come back and tell everyone in the guild they got bored with it.  Seems to still be a primarily Asian phenomenon.

I started WoW during the open beta.  Cataclysm was great ... for awhile.  There just wasn't enough there to keep everyone going.  My guild of buddies farmed out all the heroics ... and then got bored running the same dungeons over and over.   I was a tank (85 Paladin) so I leveled up my mage to 85 too to play as dps.  Farmed out the heroics on the mage, so I leveled up my priest so I could play as healer.  Then I got bored with that too.  We couldn't seem to all get together to try 10 man raids, because some people farmed out heroics before others and then quit playing.  So we were always short.  /sigh.  I'd still like to start exploring the Cataclysm raids tho.  Dungeon mechanics were pretty awesome.

Hoping 4.1 gives enough content to make it worth reactivating and lure back some of my friends.

It will help a lot when the new instances go live. New gear will help with getting everyone raid ready. The raids are a blast now but many have an enrage timer. The guild I am in does do a lot as far as heroics and endgame content. We even get a few 25 mans together. Healers are where we are suffering though. We have a ton of tanks and dps but only 4 healers. Time to get my priest and shammy leveled to help fix some of that. LOL Healing has got fun though. Never used to like it (thought it was boring) but they put the challenge back in it.

Don't know if you would be interested but if you ever want to roll a toon on Feathermoon Alliance side I have a DK with the same name I use here. Id be happy to get you in the guild and raiding with us if just to see the content.

I appreciate that.  I've got some alliance toons on Terrokar but nowhere else.  I've been Horde side ever since we played with the kids and the Alliance side every time we turned around someone was miming blowjobs at the bank in Darnassus or talking filth in the general chat.  Horde side always seemed more mature.

I can't see myself leveling new characters from scratch.  I'm pretty much stuck with Runetotem simply by virtue of how many toons I have there.  I could join a raiding guild and see the raid content, but it kinda defeats the purpose of playing with RL friends y'knowhutImean?  I'm playing Rift now specifically to build new relationships with people in a new game where everyone is at the same level of play.  With luck it'll pan out.  I'm not really into Rift atm.  Just more into Rift than I am into WoW...which isn't saying much.  But if I do get back into  WoW someday I may revisit this thread.

Got over WoW a few years ago. It is life-draining. Been playing mostly Adventure Games recently, both old ones and some of the newer ones that independent companies have been producing.

WOW ... very fun and at a reasonable cost.  Played Star Pirates for a while but the game dynamics changed so much, I felt it wasn't for me anymore.

Does anyone know of a free, downloadable, online RPG (not necessarily MMORPG but that could work too) that has decent graphics without overpowering an older graphics card, and a combination of linear (quest-based) and nonlinear gameplay? I've been looking for a game like that for months.
