Who bakes? Forget deserts. The bird and ham are the important parts. In my house, the table has an Italian theme. Eggplant, Monicotti, Lasagna, Antipasta, etc.

I haven't baked for Christmas since my kids were here. I usually buy a tray of cookies, but this year my DIL said she's baking and bringing cookies. I love that girl!  Cool  Grin The rest of the Christmas cooking is up to me, of course.

Well for starters there will be Cranbery salsa with cream cheese, chips. Along with plater of assorted cut-up vegetables, chesses, meats and other dips. 4 home made candy dishes and cookies.   (2) 23 lb Oven roasted turkeys and stuffing with homemade turkey gravy.  Mashed Potatoes, butternut squash gratin  , green bean. Relish Plate (pickles, olives, etc.)  Caesar Salad, fruit salad and Hot home made butter rolls.

Coffee and milk along with over 10 wines for the adults that drink wine.  My wife and I don't drink lol but we are in wine country in Washington and there is 35 wineries all with in 75 miles of us.  Someone is alway dropping off there wine.

Pumpkin pie, Pecan pie and cheesecake along with ice-cream as needed lol
The good wife and I both enjoy cooking and baking

And what ever the kid may bring to drink and eat also. lol

There is the generational baking that must be done.  Next Saturday I am spending the day teaching my oldest daughter (23) how to make the family fudge recipe and the wafer cookie recipe.  She wants a triple batch of the wafer cookies.... Smiley Smiley.  On top of this we will be making traditional sugar cookies, peanut nut clusters, and a new recipe for peppermint patties.  She is really excited...

She has a friend coming over so I will be teaching them how to make stew ala "Solar"..... Cheesy

Grin  We fix all that is we don't know who all the kids have ask to come.
Most years about 10 come that we don't even know about.  As the can not stand to see someone just home alone on special days.  It started when my wife bring college friends home with her that could not get home for holidays.  My kids have done the same and now it just friends that can not get home.  My two girls and boy are very good cooks, so I don't see this ending even after are passed the age of doing it.
