Perfect For The Home Plumber

This is a relatively new product for plumbing, but has been around for years in Big Rigs and farm equipment.
My neighbor just plumbed his shop with it, and I'm totally impressed!
He got several estimates to get a full bathroom with shower/water heater and several outlets running several hundred feet in an two story 10,000 sq ft building, most said two days labor plus material.
The one guy said four hours with (Shark Bite) brand fittings, he agreed and the guy was done in three hours.\

It works on all kinds of pipe, from copper to poly, and needs no special tools, just a pipe cutter, that's it!

Here is the product:
New Construction

Cut. Push. Done. The SharkBite® Connection System is the fastest, easiest way to plumb any residential or commercial job.

...
Wet or Dry Repairs
There’s no faster way to make a repair – wet or dry. Connect copper, CPVC or PEX pipe in any combination.

Nice.
I am doing some of this next month.   I will be using pex and I have not done so before.   I was musing about what it would take to transition the connectors.
Now, I muse no more...

I had just been to Home Depot the day before, and was pricing the other system that requires a crimping tool and one time use connectors.
All in all the price for connectors are about the same, but the tool is more than forty bucks.

But when I saw the job my neighbor had done, I was sold, and he can just unlock the fittings and use them again if he wants to make changes.
So if you make a mistake, the pipe is cheap if you have to start over.

No more musing for me either, I just didn't want to buy a crimping tool, only to have them quit carrying that particular brand, I have enough specialty tools to open a museum. Undecided

That's great.  I will be gutting my bathroom this year and I just may give this system a try.  Thanks for posting it.

Cool, it's not only a time saver, but for those that don't want to run the risk of burning down the house due to soldering copper joints together, it's a God send. Grin

You still get to wrap the pipes with foam.
A womans work is never done....

Don't be fooled, ST is a great helper, she does a great job of assisting, sometimes she even does more than me.
Funny, I never knew there were so many projects to do till she moved in. Grin
