OT: The past 24 hours in my world

So last night I posted something on LNF and then was browsing for a little when a Norton warning popped up saying my computer was infected by a virus..... within a couple minutes of that all my saved stuff and icons disappeared and then my computer crashed. Went to the Geek Squad this morning and since my computer is 7+ years old it wasn't worth putting any money into trying to save it. So I'm now a Mac convert..... just got home with it and started it up.... it'll definitely take time to get use to this but I'm liking it so far.

I only know a few people that use Mac but they all rave about it.

I'm very happy so far..... I'll be happier if I ever figure out how to change the font size. The monitor is huge and the words are tiny.

They're supposed to be nice, easy to use, reliable machines, but they cost a fortune!

I'm sorry to hear about your crashed computer, Freedom. But I know you'll love your Mac. Macs are great!

Yikes, FL!  Shocked My son and DIL are MAC users and love them. They try to convince me to switch, but I just can't make myself spend that much on something I don't use all that much. Maybe next time. Good luck finding the font size changer. I'm sure you could call Best Buy and they'd tell you.

I got mine last year.  I love it.  I asked to buy Virus protection but they told me if I really wanted it, they'd sell it to me but I really didn't need it.  So far, so good.  If I get on a site where there may be a problem, my Mac warns me and I just avoid the site.  Regular updates are popping up from time to time.  It's fast....very fast.   If you want to learn anything , just Google what you want to do on a Mac and someone will give you the instructions on how to do it.  I'm still a long way from understanding it all but I really just do the Internet stuff.  Good luck.

I found that not to be the case.  I got my all in one with a printer for $1100.  No wires all over the place and I don't have to buy anti-virus and don't have to get it cleaned.
