I've finally been converted

He's definitely a modern-day miracle worker. I simply got on my knees and prayed to him as I watched the video. Miraculously, my chronic back pain disappeared within minutes and I have been completely free of pain for 6 days now. I think it's just a matter of faith.

As I say about any faith healer, if you have such power why aren't you going though the halls of hospitals healing people.

I never put a limit on what God can and will do.  We had an 8 year old child here in Va that wondered off from his dad while walking through the woods.  He is severely autistic and mute to make matters worse.  We spent 6 days looking for him and the weather was getting progressively colder with the next day forecast to be rainy and cold, certainly a threatening scenario.

A man not associated with the searches being organized decided to venture out on his own.  He stated he was prompted to look in an area where he found the boy curled in a fetal position in a quarry.  He stated he was led by the Holy Spirit, refused to give his name because he wanted God to get the glory.

Amazing, but I learned a lesson out of all this.  My faith, as well as others began to wane that we would find this boy alive, yet despite this, the child was found alive and well.  There is no limit to God's abilities even if we think there is.  I will never again doubt what he is capable of as this was a miracle.  Had another day lapse I doubt the child would have survived the incoming cold and damp weather.

Suppose that another day did lapse and the child was found dead by the same HS guided seeker. How would that affect your "faith?"

My faith is not dependent upon one claiming any voice from God. You find false prophets all the time. But it doesn't mean that God is false.

What if the guy that found him told you that he was being guided by Zeus, or by some other god?

It would not but your attempt to pigeon hole him is to do what precisely?

Washington suffered 6 bullet holes in his robe, had two horses shot out from underneath him and not one grazed him.  He believed it was Divine Providence that protected him, who are you to say otherwise?

You are playing the "what if " game which has no relevance to the facts.  We could play that game with no end but it has no bearings on the fact regarding the story.

Funny, in your sarcasm you have touched on the very essence of faith.....What if?

What if God does not exist?  What if there is no purpose in life?  What if all there is is all you can see?  What if you are just a collection of particles organized into protons, neutrons and electrons that are then organized into atoms and then molecules, cells, tissue and an organism?  Well you would be nothing more than dead star matter, wholly unimportant to anyone but yourself and possibly not even yourself.  Your worth would be zero, no more needed than the dodo bird.

What if we (humans) are different?  Somewhere in the distant past a bird or dinosaur learned to build a nest.  I would imagine that that must have been a near ovarian Einstein moment.  Yet the birds of today have no knowledge of that first nest, just a computer like programming to build another, oblivious to why they only know the how.

How does not take faith.  Man dabbles in the realm of God all the time.  Science unlocks the methods of God almost daily.  It is easy to see how a star works, how black holes form, how space and time are woven together.

What we don't know is why.  That is faith.  Why do we exist?  Why are we different from frogs?  Any time you begin asking what if and why, you delve into faith, whether you end up with a faith in nothing or a faith in something does not matter.
