And God said let there be aliens... or something

As we delve deeper into the depths of the universe and learn more about these planets in solar systems similar to our own and face the very real liklihood that they too may contain life do these findings in any way affect your current beliefs?

looking at and producing odds or probabilities does not exactly mean the existence of aliens.

So you there are just a bunch of empty planets out there and we are the only sentient beings in existence? Did you ever think we discover the existence a planet within a solar system similar to our own? Why wouldn't it sustain life when ours does?

Not at all.  I find nothing Biblical that prohibits life of any type on another world.  In fact I find nothing Biblical that either explains away scientific discovery or discourages it.  All knowledge is one of the gifts of the Holy Ghost.  The fact that man at times misuses this knowledge or fails to give ultimate credit is a different story.

I personally find no quandry or quarrel between science and religion and the quest for knowledge in both areas.  I do find pride on both sides to be a leading cause crazy beliefs.  Everything from "We don't need God to explain the universe" to "Adam walked with the dinosaurs or the devil put bones in the ground to confuse us".

How and Why..Science and Religion...they do not have to be mutually exclusive, except of course to the close minded on both sides.

Sagan would presume there are millions of intelligent life species out there based on probability - the probability that many planets mean greater likelihood of intelligent life.  do you agree that is a good rationale?

It's interesting to think about but we'll never know. On a cosmic scale the history of humanity will be a rather short one. The odds of other societies existing is one thing, the odds of them existing at the same time anywhere near each other in the vastness of the universe is another.

Why shouldn't we "ever know?"
On a cosmic scale, our material lives are a rather short spark that is practically non-existent in the infinity that comprises all of our Universe.
The odds of our consciousness being restricted to this flimsy physical world is one thing.  The odds of our consciousness being a reflection of all existence is another.

Odds based on what? Units of wishful thinking?

The fact that a planet is "Earth-like" in size, location relative to its sun, etc. doesn't mean the conditions necessasry for life are present. There may be differences in the rotation of said planet, rate of orbit relative to its sun, atmospheric conditions, etc. None of this can be tested, of course, since these planets are light years away.
