Roll Eyes Asked and answered, give it up, FC! The context is about reproduction/procreation of the human race, not "money"...

"Genesis 1: 28 Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it."

What don't you get?

Look at Genesis 1:28 and it'll answer your question. It's the SIXTH day of creation when God tells Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. So God was talking about money?

Let's look at Strong's Concordance for the word "fruitful". In Hebrew, the word is parah and it means:

1) to bear fruit, be fruitful, branch off

a) (Qal) to bear fruit, be fruitful

b) (Hiphil)

1) to cause to bear fruit

2) to make fruitful

3) to show fruitfulness, bear fruit

(Actually, it's pronounced "peru" - "pay-rue".)

As "Focus and Point" noted:
Quote:
...the commandment to be fruitful and multiply, as it is written (1:28), "And G-d blessed them, and He said to them, 'Peru u-revu' / 'be fruitful and multiply'." Among the reasons for this mitzvah is that G-d created the world that it should be inhabited. This is a great mitzvah, as a result of which it is possible for all the other commandments to be performed.

Hmm, Strong's says Phonetic Spelling: (paw-raw')

I can't seem to find a hebrew site to help me with that.

פְּרוּ

You'll have to take my word for it but (reading from right to left) - the first letter is pey- makes a p sound "puh" - the two dots underneath make it only a "peh", just a teeny bit of vowel sound.
Then there is "reish", an "r" sound.
And then their is a "vav", which is a silent letter but the dot after it makes it an "ooo" sound.

When added together it is actually p-roo.  It is easier to write and comprehend as "peru" as the two dots under the pey do give it more of a "peh" than a "puh", but the difference is very subtle.

LIFE AND HOW TO LIVE IT WELL...

Most Christians and others have everything all twisted up, all for their own convenience. Their thinking is very fuzzy, there vision is confused, and their life falls into incoherence, and insanity, very easily.

First, 90 plus percent of the people are doomed and lost and will populate hell. If you don't get that you get nothing.

Second, ALL people are offered salvation, but again over 90% will refuse it, and God knows these figures from day one to the last day. He would that all be saved, but knows very good and well over 90% will not be saved.

Third, He DID NOT die for the 90%, for nothing can save them, for they will for sure reject all salvation. He died for the less than 10% who will accept salvation, but can't pass God's strict standard. He died so they, the less than ten percent, can be saved and go to heaven. This less than ten percent is taken from all history, all nations all peoples, some of whom have never heard the name of Jesus. These will be saved on their conscience.

Fourth, we can debate forever what it takes to be in the less than ten percent, but we can never be sure, because only God knows for sure who He wants in His home in heaven. I feel that includes me, and I feel it would not include you, and you, and you, but only God knows for sure. It's like who one would invite to their party, many can guess they will be invited, but only the party giver, God, knows for sure who will be invited and who will attend.

Fifth, I feel a good understanding of the Bible is a good indicator of who will be saved. I think it was intended to provide us with a guide as to how to be saved and as to who will be saved.

Sixth, so going through the Bible would seem to be a good start on this. And dealing with the major themes in the Bible, such as Charity, and getting it right, would focus us down.

Seventh, we must realize that the devil and his worldly views and values are the enemy and the church is saturated with demonic influence and teachings by the demons assigned to carry out the subversion of the church, and the saved people therein.

Eighth, how do we understand things like charity? Get that right and you have a good guide to God's heart. Repentance is another major theme so getting that right is important. And love of money is another one, and weapons is another, and Religion and Churches is another, and Love is another, Bible translations is another, the Gospel is another, the Commandments are another, Children are another, Family is another, Living a constructive life is another, Civic duty and politics is another, and so on. These are major themes. Get your understanding of them wrong and you have demonism, get them right and you have godliness and salvation.

Tackling these major themes in order to get them right is my purpose on this earth, and what I do every day, from dawn to dusk. It is all I care about, and what God has assigned me to do. Other details will follow in succeeding posts on this Thread.

"I came to bring Life and Life More Abundantly!" Our best and brightest birthrate is 1.2 average, which is half of replacement. Under best circumstances it takes 2.2 children to just replace any population.  Any group becomes statistically extinct in less than 100 years that reproduces at half of replacement. It's just Math. This is America's last century. It's all over. People will be living here after we're gone but they won't be us.

Cripe sake. This thread was from January. Are you that much in need for attention?

Well, I have no intention of continuing the discussion, but I'm sure willing to talk about religion. Hey, I know. Let's talk about ISLAM!!!

Not your call to make.

Ironic, since you obviously look at Christianity through a lens that distorts all of it.  Evidence follows...

Quote:
First, 90 plus percent of the people are doomed and lost and will populate hell. If you don't get that you get nothing.

The Bible doesn't say that, so from where do you get it?

Quote:
Second, ALL people are offered salvation, but again over 90% will refuse it, and God knows these figures from day one to the last day. He would that all be saved, but knows very good and well over 90% will not be saved.

The Bible doesn't say that either.

Quote:
Third, He DID NOT die for the 90%, for nothing can save them, for they will for sure reject all salvation. He died for the less than 10% who will accept salvation, but can't pass God's strict standard. He died so they, the less than ten percent, can be saved and go to heaven. So...salvation is offered for all people but Jesus didn't die for all people?  How does that work?

Quote:
Fourth, we can debate forever what it takes to be in the less than ten percent, but we can never be sure, because only God knows for sure who He wants in His home in heaven. I feel that includes me, and I feel it would not include you, and you, and you, but only God knows for sure. Maybe you should rely on something more than your feelings.

Quote:
Fifth, I feel a good understanding of the Bible is a good indicator of who will be saved. I think it was intended to provide us with a guide as to how to be saved and as to who will be saved.

Balderdash.  The implication is that somebody who is mentally retarded can never be "saved."  Bible knowledge is good, though.  I think you should work on yours before deigning to tell others what is true and what is not.  Your lack of Bible knowledge has been exposed in the past.

Quote:
Sixth, so going through the Bible would seem to be a good start on this. And dealing with the major themes in the Bible, such as Charity, and getting it right, would focus us down.

"Charity" is not a "major theme" in the Bible.

Quote:
Seventh, we must realize that the devil and his worldly views and values are the enemy and the church is saturated with demonic influence and teachings by the demons assigned to carry out the subversion of the church, and the saved people therein.

Where do you get that from?  It's not in the Bible.

Quote:
Eighth, how do we understand things like charity? Get that right and you have a good guide to God's heart.

Yup.  Exclusion, arrogance, and self-righteousness are foreign to God's heart.

Quote:
Repentance is another major theme so getting that right is important. And love of money is another one, and weapons is another, and Religion and Churches is another, and Love is another, Bible translations is another, the Gospel is another, the Commandments are another, Children are another, Family is another, Living a constructive life is another, Civic duty and politics is another, and so on. No, they're not.  "Bible translations" is not a biblical theme.  Where are you getting this from?  It would be interested to start a thread on major biblical themes.

Quote:
Get your understanding of them wrong and you have demonism, get them right and you have godliness and salvation.

Bullshit.

Quote:
Tackling these major themes in order to get them right is my purpose on this earth, and what I do every day, from dawn to dusk. It is all I care about, and what God has assigned me to do. Other details will follow in succeeding posts on this Thread.
