In order for us to act differently, we need to think differently.  Jesus came so that man can have a new way of seeing God thus a new way of seeing himself.  Jesus brought a new mind set to the world.  When a new idea comes to our minds that is in conflict with the old idea, the old idea will try to kill the new one.  The old idea does not want to be replaced, so it will try everything to destroy the new way of thinking.  When the Magi came to Herod with news of a new king being born (Jesus), Herod called for the destruction of all babies from 2 years old on down.  He did not want to be replaced, so he tried everything to stop this new ruler from taking over.  Jesus met resistance from the religious community as well and they did finally crucified Him.  However, this bringer of the new idea arose and transformed all who believed in Him.  Today, let us welcome the new ideas that God has for us today.  These new ideas will be met with resistance but work through the resistance because on the other side there is freedom.
