Barbara Bush Pulls No Punches
Mar 10th, 2012 at 12:30am

"
I think it's been the worst campaign I've ever seen in my life
," Bush said Monday at a conference on first ladies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas

Ouch! Shrub's Mama puts it all on the table!

Former first lady Barbara Bush is giving a thumbs down to the GOP presidential race.

"
I think it's been the worst campaign I've ever seen in my life
," Bush said Monday at a conference on first ladies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. "
I hate that people think compromise is a dirty word. It's not a dirty word
."

Bush's comments were reported by The Dallas Morning News.

The wife of President George H.W. Bush and the mother of President George W. Bush recently recorded automated calls on behalf of Mitt Romney that are targeting voters in Ohio and Vermont. Both states are among the 10 that go to the polls tomorrow on Super Tuesday.

In the robo-calls, Bush says Romney is the "best man to lead the country" and his wife, Ann, "will make a great first lady."

Bush and her daughter-in-law, former first lady Laura Bush, took part in the conference at SMU, where the younger Bush's presidential library is going to be located.

In response to a question about civility in politics, Barbara Bush didn't mince words. "
I think the rest of the world is looking at us these days and saying, 'What are you doing?
' " she is quoted as saying in the Dallas newspaper.

Her husband was the first in the line of post-Reagan RINOs who have cause so many problems for the country and  defeat for the GOP.  I guess I've heard enough from her and her relatives.

Nah, she's allowed her opinion. Barbara Bush has always spoken her mind. No problem.

Looks like Uyr is copying his favorite poster with all those bright red fonts. Low IQ would be honored.

Jesus is my favorite poster now? I was using red font (which I have always used for emphasis, although seldom) to give BB's words the weight of Christ's ...you know, from that red-letter Bible you used to read when you were a kid ...before you forgot how to read except as an exercise of rote regurgitation.

You're a little schizophrenic on this issue, aren't you? I thought your position was that the bigoted republicans would never vote for a Mormon.

I know a little more about the Bible than you, I daresay, Mr. I-Just-Started-Reading-Isaiah-Ooooh! Grin

And about the Republicans not voting for Romney: that applies strictly to the foaming-at-the-mouth fundamentalist evangelicals who consider Mormonism a cult inspired by Satan himself - which happens to be a lot of them. They'll be sitting the election out rather than vote for a minion of Hell.

Barbara Bush and her hubby are just about as egg-cup-in-the-morning-Muffy-fetch-my-cigarette-holder "establishment Republican" as any human beings can come. I would have had a friggin' stroke if they endorsed anyone other than Romney.
