I assume you're talking about things like farm subsidies where the government pays a farmer not to grow corn? And the reason is the market is overflowing with corn, thus the price is too low. So farmers are paid to not grow it, so the price at market is higher.

No, the government should not be subsidizing anyone, including the oil industry.

No, the government should not be subsidizing anyone, including the oil industry.

The oil industry receives no subsidies from government. They use the same tax write offs that every business uses. That is not a subsidy
