With all these global warming threads
Apr 9th, 2012 at 2:48pm

Time for a dose of reality.

It's been so warm in the United States this year, especially in March, that national records weren't just broken, they were deep-fried.

Temperatures in the lower 48 states were 8.6 degrees above normal for March and 6 degrees higher than average for the first three months of the year, according to calculations by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. That far exceeds the old records.

The magnitude of how unusual the year has been in the U.S. has alarmed some meteorologists who have warned about global warming. One climate scientist said it's the weather equivalent of a baseball player on steroids, with old records obliterated.

The warming came from a jet stream that was higher in latitude than usual over the eastern 2/3 of the country.  Not showing up in your lib media coverage was that it curved a lot lower in the west.  We had 49 degree daily highs in southern california.  People were saying things like "hell, for this, I could have stayed in Wisconsin."

The same old story - from racial incidents to GW, the lib media carefully culls the facts to support the liberal narrative.

I thought regional differences didn't matter, and that only worldwide climate was a concern. It seems the "climate scientists" change the rules as it suits them.

People suffer from short term memory

Deadly freeze, heavy snow keep slamming Europe

ROME – The streets here were empty Monday as the city was crippled for the fourth straight day by a massive snowstorm that shut down streets, felled trees and paralyzed villages with the heaviest snowfall in decades. Even Rome's ancient Colosseum was closed.

"I have not seen anything like this in 50 or 60 years," said Adele Zanzero, an 87-year-old retired fruit vendor, who was born in Rome. "When I was a young girl, we had snowstorms, but the city moved slower then. Now it's a fast-paced modern place, and everything just stops with weather like this."

A mini ice-age has caused record-low temperatures in Eastern Europe and rare heavy snow across the continent. Reports from hospitals and emergency agencies put the death toll over the past several days at more than 300 as of Monday.

Your sources seem to fail in comparison to over 7500 records being broken for heat in a single month.  Grin Grin Grin

You missed that there were 22 records set that were higher than what's going on today, right?

Btw, while we are "roasting" on the east coast, Europe and the middle of the country were having record snow and cold, right?

That's regional. Europe was suffering record low temperatures this past winter.

http://www.dw.de/dw/article/0,,15730287,00.html

And China was suffering record low temperatures as well

Alaska, record cold temperatures

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/01/30/bitter-cold-records-broken-in-alaska-all-t...

Australia suffered record cold temperatures as well

http://www.australianweathernews.com/

NASA Satellite Shows That
Global Temperatures
Continue Their Plunge Into Record Cold

http://www.real-science.com/nasa-satellite-shows-global-temperatures

So looks like our "heat wave" was more east coast than anywhere else in the world.
