Of course, one must first accept that people can be so easily cast into a binary, one dimensional spectrum of "liberal" and "conservative". The one dimensional spectrum is such a useless paradigm.

Plus, these are British "conservatives" and British "liberals", no?

Both most likely have very small segments of the brain which dictate beliefs in how truly free a society should be.

The article should be titled "Statist British Conservatives have slightly different brain structures than Statist British Liberals."

Then, still, Statist American Liberals can blissfully rejoice that a single study funded by "The Today Programme" has somehow proved their political philosophy more enlightened than another.

This story is complete bullcrap, because everyone knows that Liberals makes decisions based on how they feel about it, or how some perceived victim may feel about it. There is no rational thougth in Social Liberalism, it's a utopian pipedream with no demonstrated long-term successes in history.

Classical Liberals, such as our Founding Fathers are much more akin to modern day Conservatives than they are modern American Liberals. Classic Liberals preferred individual Liberty and Free Markets, two things that modern American Liberals are violently opposed to.
