It's not about "special treatment" as if Israel was an arbitrary choice.  They were "God's people" before they were Israel or a nation--it is God's fulfillment of his promise to Abraham.  Why have they suffered?  It's kind of like, to whom much is given much is expected.  Jews today still argue about whether being God's people is more a blessing or a curse.

Do jews think non-Jews aren't God's people?  I still don't grasp the distinction of two kinds of people.

Non-Jews don't have the special relationship with God and the special requirement/responsibility of demonstrating God to the world.

So you're saying that a baby that is born to a Jewish woman in New Jersey automatically has a "special relationship" with some god, while a baby that is born to a Dinka woman in Sudan, on the same day, has no such "special" relationship?

based on Jewish religion, i believe that is correct.
do you have any other information on Judaism that contradicts that idea?

No.

Do you believe that that proposition is true?

yes, based on the Jewish belief system, that is correct.
are you here to discuss religion and understand different belief systems or are you here to challenge other beliefs based on your own presuppositions of what is right and wrong?

and if the latter, what do you care about a baby born to a Dinka woman in the Sudan?

Can you answer the question without a qualification?

Do you accept the proposition as a fact? Yes or no.

Neither of those choices accurately describe my interest/purpose. I am interested in supernatural claims, and in exploring whether there is any credible and reliable support for any such claim, whether it has a religious origin/basis or not.

I only used that reference as a backdrop to the question that I posed. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear from the context. I care the same for the Jewish woman in New Jersey as I do for the Dinka woman in Sudan.

What I'm trying to get at is, under Judaism, what exactly is te nature of the non-special relationship of non-jews with God?

They have the option of conversion?  Note that this does not happen because of proselytism, but because of the awareness of the goy of the superiority of Judaism.
