20th anniversary of the Los Angeles riots
Apr 25th, 2012 at 8:59pm

- 3000 fires set in the city.

- Over 50 people killed.

- One billion dollars damage.

- Looting was occuring everywhere, but especially in the black community.  A number of koreans owned small businesses there.   When the looters showed up, they were confronted with koreans armed with rifles.

- The rioting went on for six days, until the california national guard was called out and arrived in force.

That's right, some of them barricaded their
businesses. A clear signal was sent that they
weren't going to simply sit on their ass,
allowing a bunch of idiots to come in and trash the
place and take everything they had.

I haven't owned firearms for awhile, except for a Marlin rifle for target practice.  The crime rate is very low where I live, but with things like they are, the country declining, I wonder if it's time to re-arm.  My nephew sells sidearms in the midwest.

There were exactly twelve idiots, they were called jurors.

Great way to demand justice.  Roll Eyes

If Zimmerman is acquited, or convicted of a lesser charge, we'll see part 2.

Wrong.  Nothing is going to happen.  When ABC released the photo of Zimms head, you heard a collective groan by the race baiters.  Day 1 of the shooting looked bad for Zimms, and the cops, but as the evidence becomes known, everyone will continue to stand down.  I know many in the black neighborhoods that have lost interest.

Also, Zimms not a white guy, so it's a little hard to get upset when this will go down as a minority on minority statistic..... again.

Don't count on the race baiters to give up that easily. I don't put anything past Sharpton and Jackson.

Cute, I expected someone would try to pull my
attention away from the rioting and looters themselves.

It's funny how a few extra facts can bring a situation into clarity.....

On the night of March 2, 1991, King and two passengers, Bryant Allen and Freddie Helms, were driving west on Foothill Freeway (Interstate 210) in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Prior to driving on the Foothill Freeway, the three men had spent the night watching a basketball game and drinking at a friend’s house in Los Angeles. After being tested five hours after the incident, King's blood-alcohol level was found to be just under the legal limit. This meant that his blood alcohol level can be estimated at approximately 0.19 — nearly two and a half times the legal limit in California — when he was driving. At 12:30 am, Officers Tim and Melanie Singer, a husband-and-wife team of the California Highway Patrol, spotted King’s car speeding. The officers then pursued King at high speeds, though the actual speed of the car is disputed. The initial police report stated that King reached a speed of 117 miles per hour, but a LAPD officer later told reporters that the actual speed of King's car was closer to 90 miles per hour.  According to King’s own statements, he refused to pull the car over because a DUI would violate his parole for a previous robbery conviction.

King exited the freeway, and the chase continued through residential streets at speeds allegedly ranging from 55 to 80 mph. By this point, several police cars and a helicopter had joined in the pursuit. After approximately eight miles, officers cornered King’s car.
