I posted the link that showed the whole segment I doubt any of them watched it. The points made on show we good and rather they want to admit or not many people feel that these wars were wrong.

Im saying if you had watched the whole show you would know what exactly was being talked about and why it was said. Not that even without the context of the whole show the statement its self is provocative and to a large degree true. Everyone wearing a uniform is not a hero.

WRONG!!!!! Even the corrupt, in a sense are still heroes. They are preventing harm from falling on someone else just by putting it on. If that's all they do is fill up a uniform it's keeping someone else out of it. Hence they are preventing harm for at least 1 person. By definition that makes them a hero.

Hayes is a cowardly little bitch. He has no clue about anything in the military. Soldiers first mission is to protect the country, AND it's interests. Anyone willing to give their life for a cause greater than themselves is a hero. Not only does that make what Hayes said untrue, I would go so far as say it was a bald faced lie.

LOL Well it's a good thing you are so insignificant no one cares whether you forgive them or not. I was in Iraq, and Afghanistan, and still cheer, and applaud for the terrific job that was, and is still being done.

As always, I thank each and every one of you for confirming my suspicions,
proving my points and, with a couple of exceptions, remaining entirely clueless.

Everyone has your number Bama. You post just to try and get a reaction. Everyone knows this. You are boring and repetitive. Your schtick is older than you're jokes. "blah blah blah this place used to be great." Blah Blah Blah Bert" "Blah Blah Blah (insert sheep joke here)."
No one listens to you or cares. Just go away with whatever little dignity you have left. How many accounts do you have at the moment? Why? There isn't anything more important you could be doing? We always know when it is you regardless of what name you are posting under. Boring and bitter tends to stick out.
Time for the knackers yard Bama. Seriously...

Why would a person consider a corrupt person a hero? Can one action (putting on a uniform and going off to war) forever seal one's hero status regardless of what other corrupt, evil and vile things that person does in his life? If one act can make someone a hero, can't one act also forever deny someone that status?

Hitler, a hero? He wore the uniform. He was a decorated WWI vet. However brave he was in battle in defense of his country, he can never be my hero.

To me, the status of "hero" should apply to someone whose lifestyle was generally admirable. A corrupt, degenerate monster who does one admirable thing is not my hero. He is a corrupt, degenerate monster.

One might applaud the bravery someone showed at one point in his life without calling that person a hero.

Does this apply to Nazi soldiers as well? Should the Germans regard them as heroes? Should we?

most of what i have read about the germans says that they thought they were fighting in both wars for the mother land
("i was only following commands")
i am sure that they are the same as the egypt militants are doing the same, just as the north koreans and others think they are
they only have a different mind set from me (and you?)
as the saying goes "kill them all and let God sort them out"
