If one has no faith, then one cannot have beliefs.

If one makes the choice to believe, then that belief is maintained by faith.

Beautiful. Very profound.

I believe, therefore I have faith.

Holds true for those of the Darwinist faith too.  Wink

Only if you believe in Darwinism.

But that would be silly, and that's not how science works.

Or in the evolution of species, which is the essence of Darwinism.

Not as silly as you think if your previous postulate is true since it would also apply to your belief and faith in science.

Do you now wish to retract what you posted in Reply #138 and admit that it was "patently preposterous?"  Cool

This is going to be tough going if you can't understand what the words faith, belief, science, truth, theory, evidence, or proof mean. You demonstrate on a daily basis you don't.

Well, I've been here for the long haul for more than six years now so if you're up to the tough going ahead we both may be here for another six years.

I shall happily place my faith in your understanding of the word, 'demonstrate,' should you manage to physically demonstrate how any species of one genus gradually evolves into a species of another genus and may scientifically be called a "biological process" instead of a  mental delusion.

Please feel free to ask Sandy to help you in your preparation for the demonstration and to choose whatever species you believe will best demonstrate the "biological process" of one species gradually evolving into a species of another genus.

Technically, I'm not an atheist.

But even if you're beliefs are correct, you won't see me in the afterlife.

I'll be in hell, which would be my personal preference given the alternative of Christian heaven.

I tend to agree with you.  And for the rest of the folks.

A survey by Pew Research Center finds that belief in the existence of God has dropped 15 points over five years among Americans 30 and under.

I'm going to double up on the irony: Thank God!

As with so many things, it really seems to just be a matter of waiting for the older generations to die so we can move out from under their baggage.

Here is a scarey thought for YOU.....One day YOU are gonna be the older generation and someone will say the same about YOU.... Wink
