Earmarked? From what I read, the chuches are seeking donations and not relying on public funds.

Am I wrong?

Obviously, Sandy doesn't honor the Constitution's seperation of church and state.  Sandy wants the state to confiscate the money and distribute it to people like Sandy who will decide to spend it for socialist policies and to continue to give people like Sandy power over their lives.

Let's start here.  You claim it is the responsibility of the State of Kansas to care for it's citizens.  What does that have to do with your topic about the church?

Read the articles. A nursery school child could figure it out - unless you're about to admit that you're not as bright.

But the appearance they present in building a multi-million dollar memorial center to dead fetuses when they could be using those millions to help living children instead, is one of crass self-indulgence for a political purpose not a Christian charitable one.

Good point.

I made a point of saying these churches can do with their donations whatever they want. But the appearance they present in building a multi-million dollar memorial center to dead fetuses when they could be using those millions to help living children instead, is one of crass self-indulgence for a political purpose not a Christian charitable one. And I can't help it if that embarrasses you to the point you feel a need to make semi-articulate, defensive growls and snarls about it.

i would say that you would rather the state spend those millions to build more abortion clinics
i would say you don't give a rat's ass about any child, even your own, you just hate any and all things or people that do not agree with you

http://articles.kwch.com/2012-06-07/george-tiller_32107253

The main story dovetails the fiscal problems the state of Kansas is enduring, especially with its social aid programs, with the tale of two Witchita churches linked in an effort to build a multi-million dollar memorial center to aborted fetuses where people can "come and properly grieve and memorialize the children that we've lost to abortion." It's called the National Pro Life Memorial and International Life Center, a kind of "Tomb of the Unknown Fetus."

Now these churches certainly have a right to spend donated money in whatever way they see fit. But in Kansas, an impoverished, hand-me-down state in the best of times (1 in 5 Kansans live on less than $12,000 per year) where now thousands upon thousands of living children are in serious, immediate need of assistance, this joint-church building project seems not just crassly self-indulgent in spending millions to memorialize aborted fetuses that can no longer be helped but also not very much in keeping with the principles and ideals of Christian charity.

But, hey, a church has to keep its priorities straight, right? Jesus said, "Let the dead bury the dead," after all, meaning that the proper concern of the living is the living. . . . Oops, wait. I guess what Jesus said doesn't apply at all here. Sorry. My mistake.

So they privately raised money that individuals willingly and privately gave, and now should be chastised for the way they spent it?  This post reeks of political bomb throwing.  It has everything from abortion to an attack on a religious institution.  It claims the that a privately funded memorial is wasteful while making no mention of the private money that is publicly confiscated and wasted by the Trillions.  The list is endless, starting with Solyndra and the bailouts and ending with the pay and benefits of Congress.

Perhaps if the public sector wasn't in a constant state of waste, private citizens would have more money (and money that holds more value) and could likely build their memorial while also dedicating a much larger amount to caring for the poor (which there would be less of if so much money wasn't taxed away).

The lives of millions of children is a religious matter. People like you are the problem.

How much money are you hording for yourself, while these people starve?

What is and isn't pointless to a Kansas church is now based on your determination?
