Tell us why Zimmerman should be given premissive treatment in this matter, treatment I don't see you conspicuously defending for every other accused murderer in the country. Should they all be able to criminally conspire to hide their assets in the attempt to get a reduced bond too, safe in the knowledge that Frenchconnection, that great legal mind of our age, has proclaimed from on high that they'll get a pass for doing so?

Bond is meant to be high; it's meant to be difficult but not impossible to meet; most of all it's meant as a means of dissuading the accused from fleeing, and toward that end it's designed to tie up almost all of the accused's assets in liens. That doesn't mean the accused and his family members have no access to their money for day to day expenses such as mortgages, utility bills, and food for the children; it means that they cannot make withdrawls for any more than what they need to continue living normally.
