So he's guilty in the Trevon Martin case, Right?

Who said that? I'm pretty sure his point was that Zimmerman's credibility will be called into question as the case moves on.

He used the term "accused murderer".

From what I read, all the prosecutors claim they prove is that he lied about assets to reduce his bond.  I would think that if the recordings prove he lied about the shooting, that would be big news and at least be reported alongside the stories about the assets, right?  Also, if that were the case, you would have proof, and not have to make the "safe" assumption you mentioned.

If you have proof that the recordings contain evidence that he lied about the events of the shooting, let's see it.

What???

This is about the bond hearing.

Your defense of criminal activity is touching in its concern. Tell us why Zimmerman should be given premissive treatment in this matter, treatment I don't see you conspicuously defending for every other accused murderer in the country. Should they all be able to criminally conspire to hide their assets in the attempt to get a reduced bond too, safe in the knowledge that Frenchconnection, that great legal mind of our age, has proclaimed from on high that they'll get a pass for doing so?

Bond is meant to be high; it's meant to be difficult but not impossible to meet; most of all it's meant as a means of dissuading the accused from fleeing, and toward that end it's designed to tie up almost all of the accused's assets in liens. That doesn't mean the accused and his family members have no access to their money for day to day expenses such as mortgages, utility bills, and food for the children; it means that they cannot make withdrawls for any more than what they need to continue living normally.

Hey, I'm just using the Clinton excuse.  Lying under oath is not that big 'o deal.  Wink  /sarc

So he didn't call him a murderer, which he isn't.

Sandy refered to him as an accused murderer, which he happens to be. Big difference.

The presumption is still there. Pretty radical position for Rick to take, being a radical, non-conformist that he is to begin with.

Who? I'm talking to him, and didn't suggest he said anything.
I asked him a question, Comprende?

He said "accused". He didn't call him a muderer.

The presumption that he's an accused murderer is spot on. What word do you use for somebody who has been accused of murder?

The presumption was that he is a murderer, period.

Read through the thread.

Sandy said:

Quote:
So if Zimmerman is willing to lie to conceal information from one arm of law enforcement, it can be safely assumed he'd lie to conceal information from another arm.

I simply pointed out, by way of example, that such an assumption (that he'd also lie to other arms of law enforcement) is not remotely safe, and would not hold up as anything approaching proof of further lying.

Sandy then responded:

Quote:
Has it occured to you the proof is in the recordings of Zimmerman's phone calls to his wife from the jailhouse?

as if to sarcastically point out that the recordings contain proof of further lies to "another arm" of law enforcement.  At this point, I pointed out that if such proof existed, then the assumption, along with being worthless, is also pointless, as there would be actual proof and no need to assume.

I then requested that proof that Sandy referenced.
