See my above reply. From 13 to about 15/16 I was fairly liberal, even socialist, in my views. But then my views started to evolve. While part of this came from learning the truth about the failed socialist experiment 90 miles south of Key West, and realizing that my parents and our friends hadn't fled some half-assed parody of a government but a genuinely brutal, repressive, brutal dictatorship, part of it came from acquiring a basic understanding of economics, and how unviable socialism really is.

Even some libs understand that you can't have everything you want right now, regardless of whether or not you can afford it.
