Aside from people like you, I have heard no one propose such. Why would you?

To prove the point that taking more from the rich is pointless.

Then, of course, you can show why it is that when the rich were taxed at a much higher rate they still got richer, and the economy grew, right?

The economy grew despite the high tax rates not because of them.  Nearly every economist recognizes that taxes and regulations put downward pressure on economic growth.

Not true. When the taxes were high, not Rockefellor high of course, the wealthy felt it more profitable to invest in small businesses, and other places, rather then keep the money to be taxed. It was not until the tax loopholes, and the tax breaks of Reagan, that this began to shift. Since that time we have seen stagnant wage growth for the middle class, and an ever growing gap in wealth between the top 1%, and the bottom 40%.

Here is something you might want to consider:

http://crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/15-things-gop-doesnt-want-you-know-about-taxe...

So, as the Republicans make Mitt Romney their official nominee for President of the United States, here are 15 things the GOP doesn't you to know about taxes and the debt.
(Click a link to jump to the details for each below):
1. President Obama Cut Taxes for Almost All Working Americans
2. Ronald Reagan Tripled the National Debt
3. George W. Bush Doubled the National Debt
4. Reagan Raised Debt Ceiling 17 Times, Bush Seven
5. Tax Cuts Don't Pay for Themselves
6. Almost All Working Americans Pay Taxes
7. The GOP's "Job Creators" Don't Create Jobs
8. Low Capital Gains Taxes Fuel Income Inequality...
9. ...But Not Investment
10. The Estate Tax Has Virtually No Impact on Family Farms and Businesses
11. Income Inequality Has Reached an 80 Year High...
12. ...While the Federal Tax Burden Has Hit a 60 Year Low
13. Romney-Ryan Plan Another Massive Tax Cut Windfall for the Wealthy
14. Romney, Ryan Won't Say Which of the $1 Trillion in Tax Breaks GOP Will End
15. Romney-Ryan Will Add More Debt Than President Obama

Once again you are not focusing.  Stagnant wage growth and this wealth "gap" does not mean that taxes do not put downward pressure on economic growth.   To be more clear, when I say that that taxes put downward pressure that doesn't mean there aren't other factors at play that will put upward pressure on growth offsetting the negative effects of taxes.  Nearly everyone acknowledges that taxes negatively effect economic growth.

Awesome Dr. Adrian Rogers quotes~

~"You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it"

~"You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity."

~"What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving."

~"The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else."

~"When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation."
