Like ...of all time?? Shocked
Damn. That's a very tough question to answer.

Fiction: Gotta go with Shakespeare's collected plays, although there are so many more great works of fiction out there from Bocaccio's Decameron to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings to Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, and hundreds and hundreds of others.

Non-fiction: The Origin of Species/The Ascent of Man, by Darwin.

Poetry/Verse: The Iliad, by Homer.

That's a tall order yet on second thought maybe not that hard a choice to make.

I am a big fan of French literature and IMNSHO there's no greater piece of French literature than "└ la recherche du temps perdu" de Marcel Proust, IE verbatim "In Search of Lost Time" or more accurately "Remembrance of Things Past".
People have filled libraries with comments about this extensive novel (7 volumes).

Stranger in a Strange Land. Robert Heinlein's masterpiece.

A wonderful look at life, and liberty.

Folks,
Let's remember the code here is to play well with others. Don't start any crap, and don't be goaded into responding to any crap.

Hard to decide, maybe the entire original Dragonlance series. Hard to choose just one book.

I can relate in a way. I'm a huge fan of anime (so's Cuba), and I have a number of Hayao Miyazaki's movies in my collection. Many of Miyazaki-san's movies are aimed right at kids - My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo (By The Sea), for example - but I have those and more, and love them all for the innocence they portray, the lessons they teach, and the gentle situational laughs they bring.
