scotch. Is this the place?

Well I just sampled my birthday whisky.

Not one I had  before, and pretty much certain I'll have again.

Askaig 19 year old.

MMmmm, mm, yes, for certain.

I put this right up alongside the fancier Taliskers, Laphroigs etc.

If you are a whisky appreciator, and have access to this stuff, I earnestly entreat you to indulge.

At 50 proof, it won't decay in the bottle, you can take a week or two.

I had a tiny sip of some of the Penderyn Welsh whiskies next to it (I had a sampler set too for my big day) and even these very well crafted little lovelies took a bow.

Under Communism, it's the exact opposite.

You do like to imbibe, don't you? None of those names ring a bell.

50 proof! Hard liquor is at least 80 proof.

Ah yes.

Mistake.

50.6% ABV.

88.5 proof (UK system) 101.2 (US).

I love the web.

The Laphroaig is very peaty if I remember correctly. I was never impressed with Talisker. I found it boring. I prefer Balvenie and Oban....
