Interesting, but others have thought of the same thing, Queshank, but speculating about increasing diameter and mass (using both dinosaurs and continental drift as clues):

I am woefully unprepared to discuss the scientific merits of such a theory.  If I'm being honest I have to admit that when I concocted my ballooning earth theory there's a very good chance I was pretty high.  Cheesy  This was pre Internet in my town so around 1993 or 94 or thereabouts when I was posting on bulletin board systems.

I'm going to have to read these links you've shared.  There's actually a real expanding earth theory?  That blows my mind!

Another theory I proposed about that time was that Mars used to be teeming with life, and Earth spoke to him one day about how itchy he was getting and that no matter how he shrugged and shook he couldn't quite get rid of the vermin making him so itchy.  Mars recommended a commercial delousing agent that Mars had used ... the only drawback was Mars had been bald ever since.  (Aaaaaand challenged Christians to prove me wrong.  In my defense it was local Christians and they were being quite ridiculous and I was a recently converted atheist who thought he knew everything and had to convince everyone I met)  I wonder if anyone has a bald Mars theory with a scientific basis.  I'll have to peek around for that too.
