I thought this might appeal to the history buffs among us. Long but well worth the read.

Though you will have to overlook the occasional typo.

Much of what is said has been said elsewhere but not in a manner that is so accessible.

That was a great article TL Thanks for the post.

While reading it this bit sounded rather familiar regarding our current situation.

Quote:
The money changers had control of Medieval Englands money supply and at this time were generally known as goldsmiths.  Paper money started out and this was simply a receipt you would get after depositing gold with a goldsmith, in their safe rooms or vaults.  This paper started being traded as it was far more convenient than carrying round a lot of heavy gold and silver coins.Over time, to simplify the process, the receipts were made to the bearer, rather than to the individual depositor, making it readily transferable without the need for a signature. This, also, broke the tie to any identifiable deposit of gold.

Just a stroke of the keyboard and the debt is paid...for now.

No prob. I thought it was something that would be of interest here.

I found the passages on the war of 1812, the civil war and the great depression to the best the most interesting.

What I find fascinating is the opponents of a free market system base their arguments for the need of government regulation solely on the evils perpetrated by corporations yet they seem completely ignorant to the fact that the government makes it possible. In other words we keep hearing about the need for banking regulation yet we have been financially regulated up the Jacksie for centuries yet we keep having these boom and bust cycles. Wasn't the mighty fed supposed to protect us from this?

What you read, if you actually read what TL posted above:

http://wintertrabex.liberty.me/2014/09/11/the-history-of-the-money-changers/

If you have not read that, you really should take the time. It is a fascinating read and is totally non-partisan.

What you are reading, is not only the rise of an history of central banking, but is also, the story and the rise of none other than, Mystery Babylon, from the Roman Empire, BC.... to present day.

Revelation Chap. 17: The Whore, Mystery Babylon

This is a fascinating read.
Looks like all too many people would rather continue to be lead around, by their noses and stay in ignorant bliss, than to awaken from the matrix.

I think it might have been lost in the shuffle.

And many just don't care unless there is a narrow partisan angle to exploit. So it goes.

That's really too bad.
That is a really detailed historic account of the birth of "Money As Debt", in America, Europe and who is really responsible for the corporate corruption, everyone loves to argue about.
All the while, the robber barons and Plutocreeps continue the cherade, as though Leftwing/Rightwing, Republican vs Democrat, puppets, actually make a damned bit of difference.

There is a study that goes all the way back to ancient Sumaria, Nimrod and Hammurabi of Babylon. Even long before the Knights Templar or even the Pharoahs of Egypt.

I think that is where Mystery Babylon and the concept of Central Banking, Fiat and the King's fractional reserve may have originated.

Have you read, "The Babylonian Woe"?

88 pg pdf. 150 pgs total with footnotes in the actual book.
Very asciduously put together.

And there are also video narrative.
12 parts about 12 total hours
