Are felons allowed to vote? They shouldn't be.

They've done their time.

Obviously, illegal aliens should not be allowed to vote..

Correct

If you're gay, you should be allowed to vote. But your vote only gets counted as half a vote.

Is that the way Jesus would want it?

Jesus would probably forgive a gay for their sins, and then say "Go and sin no more."

He certainly would notsay that engaging in homosexual relations was good.

Jesus would want them to be straight like normal people.

If that's the case, you could vote for everyone.

I see what I wrote could be taken a couple of different ways. What I meant was that your criteria would preclude anyone but yourself from voting. You would be the only voter.

Ah. I get it now.

I don't know, though, I think there are other people who would also, like me, be just fine with electing a government constrained by natural rights, rule of law and equality before the law.

We British have a general election in a few weeks.

One minor theme has been, as casually explored on a Fox-bashing thread, qualifications to vote.

Away from practicalities and what any tests should consist of...

Is it right or wrong to exclude any sane adult from the process which selects those who govern them and writes the laws which bind them?

It is wrong to exclude anyone from the voting process.  The entire citizenry is affected by those who govern them and the laws they make.

I agree.

Except for the age of the voter.... 18 seems the norm*

*Although maybe it should still be 35 for women (hides from crepe)

Under Communism, it's the exact opposite.

That is true.  There is the age exclusion.  But their parents can all vote.  And I think that most responsible parents vote in the best interest of the futures of their children.  So in that way, kids do have a voice in the government that affects them.

LOL...35 for women...lol.  You are in BIG TROUBLE BUDDY.
