Technology almost ruins the music itself.

there is talent and musical expression  i guess it could be a argument but  rap and techno is like the sound of bored kids in a basement with no talent playing on someone else's band equipment messing around making noises while the real talented folks were  gone .

Album covers and albums or 8 tracks and cassettes compact disks and radio used to be the only way you could get in touch with hearing musicians bands ect and to actually SEE THEM you had to buy a ticket to show or buy a hit parader or circus magazine or if you were lucky they put pictures in album .

So this made shows much larger and made sales more inviting

Where as now because along came MtV witch in my opinion ruined the music and the music industry buy taking out and away the mystery of who made the music and the desire to buy show tickets making concerts smaller and music just got silly and sillier as it turned more geared toward video and rap snuck in and killed the MTV.

The music industry will never be as it was in its heyday before video killed the radio star and satellite and computer internet

Excellent summation. Part of the problem was the corporatizing of art and music in particular. It just became so much about image and style. So much so that even in my youth, kids could describe what some other kid looked like by telling us the music he listened to.

"He was dressed like, ya know, all rocker." or disco bellbottoms. A frickin style of pants became disco.

Can't get away with good music anymore. Unless you're willing to employ a wardrobe team and prance around stage like a clown, the bigger labels still in the game aren't interested. They need garish images to sell posters and T shirts and the video.
