Interesting story. I'd be interested to see what a public information request would reveal about this, i.e., any e-mails between, to, or from school administrators regarding this issue.

I'm a little puzzled why they would move a history teacher from teaching history to math (maybe he is also certified to teach math - certainly possible but not really addressed in the story).

Quote:
Carter said Rocca, the producer and the cameraman, all of whom were from the Northeast, experienced some "culture shock" during their stay in Jackson.

"We were driving around town and I was showing them how the banks scroll Bible verses across their marquees, and they were just like 'This is amazing,'" Carter described.

Lulz. I guess they've never been anywhere outside the NE, and clearly never been to Mississippi.

However, ISIS tactics usually seem a little more violent.

This is much the same as comparing Obama to Hitler...

Look at this kid performing a Jeffrey Dahmer-like tactic.

Dahmer loved to brush his teeth. This kid is sick and should be incarcerated.

If the electorate is corrupted dangerously by facebook accounts and fake news then democracy is an unfit form of government in this new, modern world.

Also of note, Mississippi is also one of the few states to have a clause like this in its constitution.

Quote:
SECTION 265.

No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office in this state.

No question ISIS is more violent. But it is an ISIS like litmus test of professed belief.

If he was a good teacher, and didnít push his beliefs on the class, I donít think he should have been fired. Where is the teachers union on this case?

Yet the very people you are attempting to compare them to are the people tht ISIS is killing by the thousands, Christians.  A very, very poor comparison.  That is like comparing the Jews to Hitler.

"Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure (and) which insures to the good eternal happiness, are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments."
