AR 15 piston type receiver or just gas tube?

Ok  its known that Bin Ladden was killed with a HK 416   with a piston type receiver instead of traditional AR m 16 type no moving part gas tube type .

What are the reasons Seals are using the piston type?

they  allow you to shoot more rounds before they need cleaning because they don't get dirty ?

they shoot cooler don't get as hot but i hear the hand guards do?

since they have moving part piston it means there is more moving parts to possibly have to replace and that can break?

and piston types are double triple the price of traditional gas tube ARs

And i hear the piston types are less accurate?
The piston types are heavier too .

I think i just like the traditional AR15 with gas tube only
less moving parts the better    and lower price and parts more readily available        keep it clean and lubed and its fine

Armalite   or   Colt gas tube AR  is a great weapon  IMO

What do think?

It's a solution in search of a problem, imo. A quality AR (Colt, Bravo Company, Daniel Defense, or home build with quality parts) can go thousands of rounds in between cleaning. All it needs, is lubrication.

Pat Rogers has a BCM AR that has 40k plus rounds through it in his classes and has been cleaned once and keeps motoring along.

In short, buy a quality AR or assemble one from quality parts and you'll be just fine. Spend the extra money you save from not getting a piston gun and put it towards ammo.
