So because food is cheap and the costs of treating the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle are high, that makes Americans stupid?

Roll Eyes

What, would you consider Americans to be brilliant if food was expensive here and we had to deal with starvation?

"Watched it.  A shotgun is for long ranged shooting.  That is why hunters like them.  An AR-15 is not.  That video was misleading.

Who has to set up a system?

That's what I was thinking too.

The post seemed to imply that this is carefully planned according to some vision, when most things in society emerge in a process that involves piecemeal decision making spread over millions of people, each without a clue as to the order they are helping to create.

Yup, mutual agreement through community. What Fiddler seems to want to do is expand community to national status and let a few chosen decide for all.

If you feel that careful planning according to some vision was implied then it's completely in your head.

Whether it was carefully planned or allowed to unfold naturally or while being nudged by special interests.. it's a system... e.g. Solar System, Digestive System, River System . .

Cue the inanity . .

For a Wonderboy you don't seem very bright.. What you suggest is not the opposite of what I said..

Better Quality Food = Better Health (less obesity) = Lower Healthcare Costs... Get it?

I don't know if you have been grocery shopping lately, however, quality food is not cheap, and it is getting higher.

And because we are living longer, and allegedly healthier, health care costs continue to rise (mostly due to the drugs needed to keep us alive), and will rise even higher as we live longer.

You claimed it was "set up," which implies some sort of planning rather than emergence.

Perhaps that is not what you meant to imply. But there it is.
