I can afford one.   What would you like to talk about?

What does that have to do with anything?  and what is so special about one of those?

A man or woman  can be everything great without being able to afford anything

People who brag about buying expensive and rapidly depreciating assets are either absurdly rich or are pretending to be so, living outside of their means.

I drive the worst car out of all of my colleagues, with roughly similar pay... And I've never had a car payment in my life.

We'll ignore that conservatives and libertarian bears have been wrong every step of the way about the stock market under Obama. It has constantly been doom and gloom with nothing following that represents those prophecies. Supposedly, the bottom was supposed to finally come out after QE3 ended and the Fed raised rates but, outside of a brief "correction" that has now been erased, these results have not occurred.

I wonder how many of these chicken littles took Peter Schiff's advice and bought oil when it was $150 a barrel?  Grin Grin Grin

How much have they raised rates?

I don't recall anyone claiming that there would be some major, immediate crash as soon as rates started to rise.  The last crash, the rate increases started in 2004.  And the crash didn't materialize until much later.

I don't recall making a prediction on timing of any sort of event.  I find those to be too fraught with unforeseen variables or variables that are too numerous to account for.  It is safe to say that markets are still seeing upward pressure from the fed.  And the future depends, to some degree on how the fed acts going forward.

But markets have been relatively flat and volatile since the tightening trend began.  And that is with all the gentle talk from the fed and a continually expanding timeline.

Greg says the economy is great.  These rates should be going much higher, right?

Also, the dip has not been erased.  S&P 500 spent plenty of time over 2100.  Dow cracked 18K.  These have been flat for a year.  And in an era of positive inflation, flat means down.  The real value of a flat investment over time is negative.  So I wouldn't be cheering too much.
