God did not say He was going to create man in "his" image.

He said
"Let US make man in OUR image, in OUR likeness......"

So you believe there were several of them?

Three.  The Trinity.  and the "image" refers to something other than mere appearance.  But that's beyond the scope of this board.

What would a being, that allegedly doesn't reproduce, do with a gender?

Male and Female -- act as a living metaphor for the two ways in which God makes His presence known.

Because the male genitalia is external or revealed, Jews used the male metaphor when referring to His revealed acts, like miracles, parting the Red Sea all that jazz.

The female genitalia is internal or within, so just as God is above and beyond us, She is also within us.  The feminine word "Shechina" describes God's presence within us.

Basically when they wrote about God being a bad ass warrior, that was male stuff.  When they wrote about all the nurturing crap, ala... ."God's presence within the human soul, referred to in the feminine gender, is far more profound than within any other creation. So too, the Land of Israel -- a deep manifestation of internal God-presence -- is in the feminine form."

Huh?  Huh

Sorry, it only gets more confusing if you explore further, we should probably quit while we're ahead with the conclusion that God is an incomprehensible wreck of impossible proportions.

And no, He is not a transgender.  God was actually Hermaphroditus, son/daughter of Hermes and Aphrodite from ancient Greece.  This should all be obvious of course.

I wandered around the Cathedral today, where people have done Christian stuff for at least 900 years,  maybe 1700 or so.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chester_Cathedral

Absolutely none of this crotch -related malarkey crossed my mind.

Literally none at all.

Paraphrasing St.  Spinal of Tap, ask yourself "how much less groin or crotch stuff about God could Limey have had cross his mind today in the Cathedral"?

The answer is "none. None less"

Incidentally,  I feel that today is a natural end to Dry January and I just drank a bottle of cheap Australian red.

Oh please, St. Hubbins was the saint of comfortable footwear.

Also, God makes no mention of big bottoms being any kind of ornament, yet St. Hubbins can go on and on about them.

Where does it say that? He is omnipotent so just from that you can conclude that He can do anything He wants.

Good thing He loves us and shows it by cancer, poverty, war, floods, storms and Piers Morgan then.
