Oh man, this is very sad news.  I hold him in the highest esteem and consider him to belong to the top tier of LNF history.  One of our best.

Here's a link to the "A Conversation With..." interview I did with him:

http://www.libertynewsforum.com/cgi-bin/politics/YaBB.pl?num=1201281926

Gonna have to take some time and read through it again...

Thanks for posting that!

It was a nice trip down memory lane. Great interview.

I am reminded how thoughtful Shooterman was on issues of money, economy and war.

"Practical men, who believe themselves to be quite exempt from any intellectual influences, are usually the slaves of some defunct economist." J M Keynes

"In the first place, the dichotomy between "theoretical" and "practical" is a false one. In economics, all arguments are theoretical. And, since economics discusses the real world, these theoretical arguments are by their nature "practical" ones as well." M Rothbard

Hmm...

I found my old friend Shoot was a fence post sitter.  He love stirring the pot on both sides.

Unless he was talking about Money, Family or the South.

Does anyone know what actually happened to him?  He wasn't the type to tell anyone but I don't recall him saying he was ill. It seemed rather sudden.  As I mentioned he was just recently posting at CPF.

Perhaps he fell.  mr crepe and I went to a funeral this week of a friend who fell, hit his head, went into a coma and died five days later.  Cause of death is not always mentioned in an obit.  Our friend's cod wasn't.

Wow...

"Honor me not by mourning my death, but celebrating my life" Chris Baden

1935

Shooterman was born the same month that the game Monopoly was first released.  I think he would have played as the Iron.

The Hawker Hurrican was first test flown and would prove pivotal to freedom during the Battle of Britain just a few short years later.

One day after he was born, the first commercial crossing of the Pacific occurred, the China Clipper

He lived through WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the War on Terror.

He saw the race to space, moon landings, shuttle, and the ISS.

He witnessed the height of the industrial age and the birth of the information age.  He most likely sent and received telegrams AND participated in online forums...wow.

He saw chords disappear from most things, including the cell phone.

I could go on and on.  What a blessed time to exist!

Thanks Shooterman for all the parts you played, the family legacy you surely left.

Mission accomplished! Enjoy your peace.

I pray for his family and friends that the sorrow of their loss will quickly and completely be erased by warm, loving memories.

Goose, that was nice.

Thanks.
