What if it is a kid? Or do you feel they are on their own too?

That would be his parents' responsibility, not the tax payers'.

So if the parents can't pay for whatever reason, or more to the point if the kid has no parents, that kid is on his or her own?

If a kid has no parents, he obviously must belong to some foster care program or something like that. Private institutions can provide needed assistance, if they are inclined to do so.

So how about addressing my example of a 400-lb. slob who refuses to work and is happy to leech off our tax dollars? He gets a heart attack and has no health insurance. Should we have to pay for his care?

The adult can die. Don't mistake me for a liberal on this.

But not kids. Kids deserve a fair shot even if the adults around them can't get their act together.

Fair enough.

Again, fair enough. What would you suggest as a feasible and fair solution?

You establish a fair age below which if you have no one who can care for you, it is covered. The only way to fairly cover it and spread that pain is with tax-payer covered insurance.

Ask me a few years back I would be colder about it, but once I had my own kids my view on this part changed. Do no harm to children, either directly, or by withholding care.

Let's negotiate. I can go along with that. Can you agree to eliminate coverage of children 26 years of age? That's way past adulthood.

Again, I am no liberal. 26 is no child. I can agree to kill it.

That is stupid.  You Pay for insurance in case your ass get sick.  What if you get sick and don't have insurance.  Who is going to pay for your healthcare?

Let's back up

Before you can do anything right politically, you must first reform our citizenry.

Really, no use talking further about anything else until that happens.

But, that won't happen Wink
