If you can show me where he said exactly that in those words then I'll happily agree with you.

Maybe he should take more from the UN funding and help our own seniors first.

Well, you're right, he didn't say it.

For the Record: White House budget director did not say Meals on Wheels did not show results

But WAIT, there's more:

Quote:
Trump budget casualty: After-school programs for 1.6 million kids. Most are poor.

Later in the briefing, Mulvaney was asked about after-school programs that might be cut. “They’re supposed to help kids who don’t get fed at home get fed so they do better in school,” he said. “Guess what? There’s no demonstrable evidence they’re actually doing that. There’s no demonstrable evidence of actually helping results, helping kids do better in school.”

And this from a multi-millionaire that gets a tax break from Trump.

If funding 'A' is supposed to improve the performance of 'B' ... but doesn't, why continue to fund it?

Gotta love their priorities.

The best part? Some poor conservative voters will blame Obama when their assistance ends. The fat cats have half the country voting against their own self-interests, and defending it! SAD!

That's idiotic.  There are a lot of kids in my local school system who are on free lunches, and for some of them it's the only decent meal they get in the day.  Quality food absolutely improves performance -- for anyone.

Then there's this:

Quote:
Does eating right make schoolchildren perform better? A team led by Arthur Agatston, a cardiologist and creator of the popular South Beach diet, presented findings at an Obesity Society meeting over the weekend showing that improving the nutritional quality of school meals bolstered the academic performance of students over a two-year period, in addition to lowering their weight and blood pressure. The researchers saw significant increases in math scores among the 1,197 elementary students who participated in the Healthier Options for Public Schoolchildren obesity prevention program, an intervention currently used in 79 schools in seven states.
