Read al sharptons remarks about the "immoral" trump budget. Sadly some don't seem to get you can't just keep spending more than you take in, especially when people are turning over almost half, if not more than half, when all taxes paid are considered.

If that is the case, why are some many millionaires and billionaires getting tax breaks in the Trump budget?

You tax the people carrying all the load too much, and eventually they won't show up to the dinner party. As the famous and accurate quote goes, the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money.

Witness the riots of adults in Greece, protesting when the govt ran out of money. Like a bunch of screaming babies. What did they expect.

This is one of the great bits of cognitive dissonance in the republican party these last 40 years -- ever since "Reagan showed us, deficits don't matter" (per Cheney).

You can't be serious about balancing the budget AND be serious about cutting taxes.  These goals lie in direct contradiction.  The Laffer Curve has been discredited a long time ago.  Our economy is awash in cash -- the money we print, the investments the world keeps stashing here, and the record high corporate profits that companies don't know what to do with.  More cash for the investment class will NOT yield growth enough to overcome the tax cuts.

And the bottom line with the republican party has always been about tax cuts, not balancing the budget.  Reagan did it.  W did it twice.  All while ramping up spending.

Trump wants to do it twice too -- in Trumpcare and in his budget proposal.  But he is not talking about the debt/deficit much, and he has no plans to do so.  There is nothing on the horizon that will remotely balance the budget.

If he WERE the "parents coming home", he would turn on the lights, cut spending, and at the very least hold taxes steady (if not raise them.)  THAT would be fiscal responsibility.

(I'm not even diving into the relative effects of spending cuts on our economy.  Whole 'nuther thread...)

Fc, you have clearly demonstrated a lack of knowledge about what a spending cut or tax cut is in govt parlance. Thanks for playing.

Reckon why we did so well during the 50s and 60s with tax rates from 64% to 94%

Greatest middle class the world has ever seen and plenty of rich people

You're going to have to unpack that.  If you are still glomming on to the Laffer Curve, you should take a look at Kansas.  And you're going to have to explain how a tax cut, and not a balanced budget, is the grown-up thing to do.
