You're going to have to unpack that.  If you are still glomming on to the Laffer Curve, you should take a look at Kansas.  And you're going to have to explain how a tax cut, and not a balanced budget, is the grown-up thing to do.

Clinton had a surplus for 4 years. I think the last time the repugs balanced the budget was during the Ike administration

Read al sharptons remarks about the "immoral" trump budget. Sadly some don't seem to get you can't just keep spending more than you take in, especially when people are turning over almost half, if not more than half, when all taxes paid are considered.

The problem with the budget is that Trump does not want to spend less.  He wants to spend less on some things and spend more on others.

That's a different problem than balancing the budget.  And that's why republicans have never prioritized balanced budgets -- their focus on on tax cuts alone.

While not defending the increase of the federal debt under President Bush, it's curious to see Clinton's record promoted as having generated a surplus. It never happened. There was never a surplus and the facts support that position. In fact, far from a $360 billion reduction in the national debt in FY1998-FY2000, there was an increase of $281 billion.

Reckon why we did so well during the 50s and 60s with tax rates from 64% to 94%

Greatest middle class the world has ever seen and plenty of rich people

You forgot one very important thing Wink

Everything was made in America. Unlike today if you haven't noticed Billy Wink

Also, did the Gov really get more revenue when the tax rate was 94% or did the rich do the old AMERICAN middle finger and stopped spending as much?

No one stopped spending and the rates were reduced after the war and again and again  by dem and repug as the disasters of repug trickle down and and don't tax the rich that caused the Depression were paid back to the American people.

The economy and maintaining infrastructure has been a disaster since reagan started transferring wealth from the middle class to the wealthy

I am a fan of theories of the depression but this is a new one on me.

So we could have avoided the great depression with higher taxes?
