If I tell you that my car is heading to New York, and it is really heading to California, I've lost track of my car.

It's lost in a loose sense of the word.

It was never really missing but it was misplaced if you go off the government's pronouncements.

Maybe your car decided to go to New York THROUGH California.  I bet that's it!  This ship was taking the scenic route!

And I bet the Donald never loses anything (other than a lot of money in the gaming industry).  He just doesn't remember where he put it the last time he played with it.

With each successive explosion, NK gets closer to developing the technology to send a rocket as far as Anne Coulters house.  I say we let them get that far before getting to excited about them.

Why would they say it's on the way to North Korea when it's on the way to Australia?

Is there a benefit to this that perhaps we're not seeing in psyching North Korea out?

Is it possible it was stated it was on the way to North Korea when there was no intention of sending it there?

I was surprised to see this come across my facebook feed shortly ago from CNN.  Mainly cuz ... CNN.

Trump's North Korea policy might just be working

Granted it's an opinion piece.  But it's written by a former British ambassador to North Korea.  /shrug.

Who the crappity smack knows?  Trump is the biggest mind crappity smacker we've ever seen.  He also seems to have zero crappity smacks to give about how the media or anybody else paints him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was just doing the bluster to psych out NKorea ... not giving a shit if the media painted it as the clustercrappity smack the original article does.  I mean ... they'd do that if the fleet was there or it wasn't, right?  So there's gotta be a "What difference does it make?" attitude in the administration.

Never mind tho.  I'm sure David Graham squeezed in a lot of naval and military strategy in between classes on lighting and camera focusing and of course grammar and literary criticism.  Or maybe he didn't have to.  I'm sure studying for a degree in journalism and becoming a naval admiral are pretty much the same thing.  Probably a lot of overlap.  Like most reporters these days he looks like quite the seasoned old street dog.  Probably been around the block a time or two in his 28 years on Earth and has the wisdom of the ages virtually leaking from his pores.

Incidentally it's been 10 days.  How long does it take a carrier group to go 3500 miles?  Are they halfway there yet?

Was an order ever even issued to direct it to North Korea?  Did the crewmen on board the ships not have access to the news which stated they were supposed to be headed towards/near North Korea?  Did the boss man not think "I should radio my superiors and see if I'm supposed to be there."?

Could they not get there?  Could they not be redirected there?

Or is it far more likely that the US Navy somehow become completely incompetent because they have a new president?

Yeah that's probably it.  Occam's razor of course.  The simplest explanation has to be it.  And I suppose our admirals just kinda ... got a bit dumber because we don't have a professional military man with years of military experience like our last several presidents were.

I expect we'll see a lot of ships capsizing as their commanders forget they can't turn em quite that fast.  A team is only as good as its manager after all.  And with Trump as manager I think we can expect to see a LOT of sinking ships in the next four years.  Dammit Trump!  Quit sinking our ships!

It's an electric ship and there isn't a place to plug it in anywhere so it might be a while.

Mr. Shank, you are treading a dangerous path.

This level of sarcasm is Rabbit territory.

Careful now.

flat out, approximately 5 days. I don't know if they can go flat out for 5 days.

Say 7 days, with a stopover for picnics on one of those lovely islands.

At least you have a Navy.

Our government has been dismantling ours.
