In January of 2009—the month Obama was inaugurated—the American economy lost 791,000 jobs. Now—eight years later—the U.S. has experienced 75 consecutive months of job growth.

“When President Obama took office we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. The job loss associated with the Great Recession was enormous, but a record long recovery has put people back to work including the long-term unemployed and those who left the labor force,” said Betsey Stevenson, a labor economist at the University of Michigan and former member of Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, in an email. “Unemployment is low, wages are rising, and prime-age labor-force participation is recovering.”

As a lone liberal in rural Appalachia, I'm often sought out at family functions by my more conservative kin. We enjoy the back and forth of dissing politicians, policy and each other. Can get a bit emotional but I think we feel better for it. The unwritten rule is no personal attacks...but boy do we attack everything/one else.  Grin

I warned everyone in my extended family that if trumP was able to steal the election,
I would have no further contact with anyone who had supported or voted for him.
So since that sad day, I have had no contact with my sisters, one of my brothers,
my mother, my wife's sister and her family or anyone else who dishonored us
with their actions. For the first time ever, I bought none of them Christmas gifts,
and didn't open/returned any of the gifts they sent me. I have one brother
with whom I remain in contact, as well as having my daughter and grandson.

But the rest of them can go to Hell as far as I am concerned,
unless or until they sincerely admit their mistake and apologize.
Stupidity and treachery have to come at a price, and here they do.

There are going to be some changes around here.

Nearly everyone in my family is highly disinterested in politics, but if I ever found out that someone was a liberal I would likely start treating them like an enemy since that's how I now view leftists, but only if they vote...

Well, with Trump in, maybe the boys in town will get work again in the coal mine.

Dramatic? It's bitter and childish.

I speak privately with my Conservative Brothers and never, ever discuss politics with my Liberal sisters. (both of them occasionally throw something out and I leave it alone, but when this happens I can tell they are uneasy with what they see going on with their Democrat Party).  Both of my sisters are beyond middle age, college educated professional women and both are very Liberal.  They know what communism is and they just can't accept what they see all around them with their own lying eyes.  My hope is they will one day accept that they have been played for fools for a very long time, but I know that this is a very hard thing for anyone to admit to themselves!)

If I had to guess why my two sisters are Democrats, I'd have to admit that it probably wasn't easy for them growing up with four brothers!  Grin  (they'd never admit being 'victims' but I think they have an affinity with the party that promotes the concept of  victimhood and says "Damn it we aren't going to take it any more!" and they f e e l better when they are around their 'sisters' and can blame men for everything that they perceive gets in their way!)
