Joe Lieberman for FBI director?
May 18th, 2017 at 7:13pm
Print Post
Washington (CNN) — Former Sen. Joe Lieberman is one of President Donald Trump's top picks to be nominated as FBI director, Trump said Thursday.

Speaking to reporters while meeting with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, Trump said he is "very close" to choosing a new FBI director to replace James Comey. And asked if Lieberman, the Democrat-turned-independent senator from Connecticut was a top candidate, Trump said yes.

But we all know that whoever he nominates will be opposed by the dims.

He's nominating him to appease the democrats.

Does Congress have to approve the Director of the FBI?  If so, what do the reps have to say about it?  I imagine, thanks to Biden, it just has to be a 51 vote in favor.

I wonder if President Trump will make the appointment today before he leaves on his trip.

I agree.  The day I heard of Comey's firing, I hoped it would be Trey Gowdy.  By that evening I came to realize that we ought to have a non political, experienced law enforcement professional for our new FBI Director.  We need to restore faith in our FBI as the ones who we can count on to follow the facts wherever they lead, without regard to politics.

The Senate will confirm as with all nominations.

Nothing; the House doesn't confirm nominations.
