Deppity Clarke rescinds fictitious DHS position

Clarke’s decision comes a month after he told radio station WISN in Milwaukee that he would leave his post as sheriff in June to join the Department of Homeland Security.

At the time, a spokeswoman for the agency said no announcement on Clarke had been made.

Fictitious?

"Clarke notified Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly on Friday of his decision, Craig Peterson, an adviser to Clarke, said in a statement, according to the Washington Post and other newspapers."

"President Trump and Clarke met in Wisconsin on Tuesday and discussed other roles in which Clarke could help advance Trump’s agenda, the Washington Post reported, citing Peterson."

Why would he notify HS if there was no offer or consideration and why would Trump meet with him to discuss "other roles"?

Why would he claim a position that had not been offered

So why would he notify the agency? Just because there was no announcement doesn't mean that he wasn't under consideration and the fact that he met with Trump to discuss other roles indicates that he was under consideration for something. Why would Trump bother to met with him if he wasn't?

He might be but sounds like he was being considered for some role. No reason for Trump to meet with him as recently as Tuesday.

First of all:

Apparently the Washington Post of all sources appears to confirm that he was since they decided to report on his declining of the position.

It was never "officially" announced:

"DHS officials never officially announced he’d been offered a position."

And it doesn't follow that whether one likes him or not that he would go public if there wasn't some discussion of not only him joining Trump's team but then raising the issue again if it's a lie to say he declined.

It doesn't add up.

I was waiting for that tangent which has nothing to do with you calling the position that he was being considered for...fictitious. I outlined it for you logically not based on whether either one of us likes or dislikes him. If you chose to believe it was fictitious, so be it. I believe he was under consideration for either that position or another.

Perhaps the medals are fake. They may even be the reason he declined so as not to reignite that controversy. But saying the offer was fictitious has not been proven and for that matter neither was the medals controversy ever proven.
