http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/trump-administration-prepares-to-build-first-p...

" The official said the government chose to start building the wall through the refuge because the property is owned by the federal government, meaning the Trump administration won't have to negotiate with private landowners. At least 95 percent of the 1,241-mile Texas border is privately owned.

Customs and Border Protection plans to build an 18-foot levee wall through three miles on the wildlife refuge, the Observer said. "
*********************************************************************
Much of the cost and the problem which slows the process of construction of the Border Wall, will be the use of eminent domain and the "taking of private lands for public use" which will result in numerous lawsuits from any landowners who are unwilling to sell.

This leads one to wonder how many border properties might be owned by Open Border Advocates who may have bought up such properties as a 'firewall' against Americans securing the border of our own country??  Huh Huh   ( George Soros?  Carlos Slim? The Mexican government (through shell corporations)?).  The United States can "take" such lands, but it's not unusual for Courts to issue injunctions against takings under eminent domain, through a lengthy litigation process.

The SCOTUS issued a decision under the Bush Administration which made it easier to use eminent domain (and allowed the taking of private property for private use  which would be beneficial to the government).  Perhaps Trump could Privatize the Wall with his proposal to use to Wall for Solar Production.  Trump could use Obama's green energy subsidies to entice some of his Billionaire Buddies to develop the Border land on private property the government would then lease to the Private Developers along with Obama era "green energy" subsidies!  Grin

I wouldn't underestimate what might be behind Trump's tweet regarding using the Border Wall to produce energy.  It is not unusual for public private partnerships to be designated as 'critical infrastructure' and fall directly under the security of Dept. of Homeland Security (which includes Border Patrol, Customs & Immigrations and the National Guard, as well as others law enforcement and military assets of the Federal Government).  Privately owned energy producing infrastructure such as nuclear power plants and refineries are examples of such public/private relationships.

All these meeting that President Trump has been having with Corporate Leaders may be an indication of things to come.  For Instance, Jeffery Immalt, CEO of General Electric was a member of President Obama's Industrial Development Team.  GE became both a Leader in Green Energy and the largest corporation in the world and PAID ZERO TAXES under Obama!

If American Corporations see huge profits they will go which ever way the political wind is blowing; this includes General Electric (who would no doubt love to build a wall to the government's specs and have the Feds protect it, as they reap huge Obama era benefits from making it a solar energy production facility such as the world has never seen!)

Wally, why do you keep ignoring Trumps inaction to fund the border wall?
