What are your favorite dining spots?

If it's just Scott and myself, we like quiet, romantic escapes at nice restaurants, such as Alan Wong's Honolulu. The food is so good, and they always treat you special. Alan Wong is a master chef who, sometime in the 1980s, was an originator of Hawaii Regional Cuisine (along with 11 other Hawaii chefs). "HRC" focuses on using fresh ingredients (veggies, fruit and meat) from Hawaii.

For outings with a small group of friends, we like lively spots such as Dave & Buster's. The food is really good. We order a bunch of appetizers and just eat and drink all night. Plus, there's games upstairs when you want to play, and right next door is the 16-theater movieplex. And there's lots of big TV screens to watch sports if you want to.

For family gatherings, honestly, we rarely go to restaurants. Too expensive. Everyone just usually gathers at my Mom and Dad's place for a big meal. But recently my oldest brother purchased a beach house on the North Shore. It's nothing fancy, but it's right on the beach and can house our whole family. There is nothing better than to have the whole family together enjoying cookouts, playing with the nieces and nephews on the beach, and sleeping while listening to the ocean waves. My favorite is eating beef stew and rice right on the lanai, right at sunset. The guys go fishing and diving, and the gals relax on the beach and watch the kids. Smiley

Oh, and when Scott and I go to Vegas, we like the Chinese restaurant at the Bellagio. It's upscale, but the food is so delicious. Plus, it has incredible views of the water fountain show. The name is perfect, too: "Jasmine." Smiley

My wife likes dining at home.  She no longer enjoys dining out.   Something about having her very own chief cook and bottle washer.

Wheel of Life vegan restaurant in Irvine, California.   Doesn't however measure up to the long gone and greatly missed Lotus Garden in china town in san Francisco, or the Fragrant Vegetable in Santa Monica California.  However there is still Greens in san Francisco.

You eat vegan! Wow, no wonder your mind is going. You need some (real) protein, presto!

There's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. i don't think meat is necessary for some peeps.

Well, then you don't know what you're talking about because there's plenty of wrong with it.
