In Heaven it's English English, probably King James style.

And we drive on the left.

I am not sure you're really wanting a serious discussion, but giving the benefit of doubt I will say "age" is not a concept that exists in heaven. It exists outside of the constraints of time.  You don't have a starting "age" because you don't have an age.  You are timeless.  There is only the eternal now, no yesterday, no tomorrow.  Relationships are not like those on this side of the topsoil, within the constraints of time.  They're better in ways that are unimaginable to those of us who are still here.

...

The way you describe it, it sounds nauseatingly boring. You're sure you're not talking about hell?

Mark Twain has written some pretty funny short stories on this very subject.  I don't recommend them for serious study, mind you, but they are very funny.  Just as is his Diary of Adam.  Again not for serious study, but really, really funny.
Actually I am being serious (in a funny way). I guess the point I'm getting at is that I doubt most Christians think about their own concepts in much detail. And if they did, like the things I mentioned, they'd start to get a very different perspective. And even when you try to describe things a bit, like being ageless, etc. well that's just so vague as to be meaningless. In what sense is it me then who goes to heaven?

About all I can say is, it's the spiritual you, not the secular you.  Just relaying my understanding of what makes you you, or anybody else who anybody else is, there are three components:

Your physical body
Your soul
Your spirit

Soul and spirit are not the same thing according to my understanding of the teachings of both the OT and NT.  Everybody has a body and a soul that is alive the entire time they are on earth.  When the body dies, the soul continues to exist.  The spirit, however, is dead until "reborn" by an act of God. (If it is never reborn by an act of God, it remains dead.)  It is the spirit that goes to heaven.  So it's you, but not the you you are right now.  It's a better you.  (Assuming I am correct.  I believe I am, but I am not so conceited as to leave no room that I may have misunderstood something pretty important.  And no one every fully grasps the concept of God and Heaven and Eternity on this side of the topsoil.  It's a journey as long as we're on this side of the topsoil, and we never reach the destination until we "punch out," so to speak.)

I agree with you that most Christians do not think about heaven much.  I would go so far as to say that a lot of people claiming to be Christian aren't, for that matter, Christian.  But even of those that are, thinking about heaven is not high on their list of priorities, nor should it be.  Doing the will of the father while in a physical body should be the highest priority.  Of course, that encompasses a LOT of things, and I doubt "thinking about heaven" is anywhere on the list.  It's not on mine, although I will think about it and opine on it when it comes up for discussion.

I do claim to be a Christian.  Not a particularly noteworthy or award winning one, mind you.  At best, "garden variety average" or below.  Certainly not above.  That is, of true Christians.  If you compare me to the average of all people claiming to be Christian I think I would fare in the lower end of the top third, but only because so many who claim to be one aren't.

I may change my screen name to "bonehead theologian" for a while.  Or I may not.  I am enjoying the discussions down here in the religion and Christian boards.

Elmer Fudd

I am enjoying them t but I should, by rights, stick to the Religion forum.

I use the "recent posts" function and have found myself here because I posted here.... Mr. Wolf may escort me from the premises any time.

You are my guest.  Mr. Wolf will leave you alone as long as you behave, I bet.  And I have never known you to misbehave (at least by my standards).

Bible Scriptures Describing Heaven

Matthew 18:10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

Revelation 5:9-13 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 22:1-5  Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

1 Kings 8:30 And listen to the plea of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. And listen in heaven your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive

1 Corinthians 2:7-9 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written,”What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

2 Corinthians 5:8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Philippians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Rev 21:2 I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”…

Matt 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. 36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.…
