Quisling wasn't in any way a leftist.

He was a Nazi and a traitor to his country.

Heck, the left has thrown that word at those on the right for years.  I don't remember you ever complaining about it then.

I believe that most of those on the far left and far right love our nation (the left in a very dependent way   Cheesy  ) and aren't traitors.  People should stop throwing the Quisling insult around or else say in what way the person is a traitor to the nation.

Those lunches weren't "free".  They were paid for by the taxpayer.  If there are so many kids whose folks can't afford to feed them, then perhaps it's time that we go back to having orphanages to ensure that kids get fed properly.  I would like to know how "they" know that the children don't get the proper nutrition at home.  I also would like to know how many of the kids eat good nutritious food at school and how many of them are throwing it away because they don't like it.  Do they have a 'food monitor' at the end of the lunch line to make certain that the proper nutrition is on each plate and another food intake monitor to make certain that none of the nutritious food is thrown away?

Looks like your mom was wrong.  Apparently there are at least 4 stupid questions.

When she says "orphanages" she likely means the kind where children were whipped when they asked for more gruel.

Aaaccckkk the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

In some towns and cities, free lunches are given to all of the children who go to school.  It is usually paid for by that school district.  They do it because it is cheaper to give all of the students free lunches than to deal with the time consuming federal applications and worry with the federal regulations.

It is hellish to want to help poor kids eat?  Then I'm goin' to hell fer sure.

I'd like to see you put the same emphasis on auditing federal military contracts that you do on school lunch programs.  Seems like the usual tack is that just because there are instances of waste/fraud/abuse in the defense-industrial-complex, we can't shirk our responsibilities to build our military.

I respectfully suggest that just because there are instances of little Frankie Smith throwing his apple away at lunch instead of eating it, we can't shirk our responsibilities to make sure our kids (all of them) are well fed and ready to learn when they get to school.

Should have breakfast and lunch available to all kids and staff as it's efficient and humane.  Two very good metrics.
