So your contention is that the pope never read the bible?

Who's word do I hang on, a mere man or the Son of God?  Who has ultimate authority in heaven and on earth, the Pope or Jesus Christ?

I mean when Jesus himself says HE is the only way, who are we to say otherwise?

Next time read completely through my remarks.

So you think you know better than the pope? A man judged by his peers to be the most qualified person in the world.

Do you fancy yourself as world chess champion too?

Who has ultimate authority over all of life?  The words I post are from God's word, not a man in a robe but the one who will judge you and I in the end.

Let's be honest, Jesus raised himself from the dead.  Last time I looked not one pope has raised himself from the grave.  So I am going to look towards the author of life itself, by the one who spoke it to life.  Not a man in a robe with a title.  That is what the Bible ask of me.

These Christian groups have all read the same text you have and have come to different conclusions about it.

What does the Bible say you MUST do to be saved?  Wikipedia has no authority over the word of God.   Wink

Are you saying that these denominations don't exist?

And what gives you the unbelievable hubris to think that you're more qualified to do that than the pope himself, IE someone who's been elected by higher ups to be the most qualified person in the world? To name only one among a BILLION!

I am not as certain as you seem to be about the pope's bona fides.  The "most qualified person in the world?"  But I am not a Catholic, lapsed or otherwise.

Frankly, I know a lot of Catholics who tend to ignore the pope or at least cut him short shrift.  And they're not even lapsed.

I am just making comparisons, Einstein. I don't like the pope any more than you, I just notice that he has a great deal more to back up his claims than the two of you.

Just as if the current chess champion recommends a move I am more likely to give him credit than some random braggart from an anonymous board.

You calling me a catholic only shows you to be  a troll trying to elicit emotional responses and failing at it as do you at everything else. I don't know what institution is taking care of you but they have my sympathies.
