Bannon: Donors Sick and Tired of Karl Rove, Steven Law, Mitch McConnell Losing, Wasting Millions—‘It’s a New Game in Town’

By: Tony Lee
10 Oct 2017

Former White House Strategist Steve Bannon vowed to cut off Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) fundraising sources to defeat the “establishment, globalist clique” on Capitol Hill that Bannon previously said was working to “nullify the 2016 election” because they have never believed in the economic nationalist agenda that got Trump elected.

We’re going to cut off the oxygen to Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell’s biggest asset is the money,” Bannon said Monday on Fox News’ Hannity. “We’re going to make it the biggest liability. We’re going after these guys tooth and nail.”

McConnell is the one who engineered what was ostensibly Trump's one significant accomplishment -- filling that SCOTUS seat.  Now McConnell sucks.  Dizzying.

Actually, Mconnell has been rather ineffective since President Trump was elected.  He hasn't worked with the POTUS to get anything accomplished.  He has always been a non-entity to the public when he appears on tv.  People switch channels because he's so boring when he speaks.  He's been in politics forever, even by political standards.  It's time for a change in the Senate leadership; not in the Presidency.  His agenda is not for the people.  It's for the establishment and to keep them in power.

Quote:
, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) visited Donald Trump at his office in New York, the first time the two had met. That trip appears to have paid off. The media mogul donated $5,200 to McConnell's campaign in May, according to FEC records

Quote:
Trump gave $2,600 to McConnell's primary campaign and $2,600 to his general election fund, the legal limit for an individual donor.

You're so funny.  You seem to expect all politicians to fit into a certain mould, which is one that McConnell fits into but Trump doesn't.  It's time for a change in that mould, and President Trump represents that change.  I hope that in 2018 we vote in some other Rep types who also don't fit into the establishment mould.

Yep, in the past Citizen Trump voted for dems and reps.  He thinks of the people and the nation, and not the party, unlike most other reps and all dems.

Could you be any more suckered by the bullshit? Just wow.

Trump "thinks of the people and the nation, not the party".   Roll Eyes
Trump thinks of Trump, nothing else. If by now this isn't clear you have some kind of learning disability.

McConnell gave Trump the one single significant "accomplishment" Trump can claim -- Gorsuch.  Wouldn't have happened without McConnell.  Now you're saying McConnell should be pushed aside because he's "boring".  Loyalty much?

The problems and the fault-lines in the senate are symptomatic of fundamental gaps in republican philosophy.  Rand Paul, for instance, has campaigned long and hard that he would never sign a budget bill that runs up the deficit.  So now, with Trump in office, Paul is supposed to put aside "boring" fiscal prudence and go with the Trump tax proposal, which will by all accounts cause significant new deficits?  Forget what he represents, so that Trump can get one thing "accomplished"?

Why would Rand Paul risk his political career, his governing principles, and his reputation to support Trump?  Trump is showing everyone that loyalty goes only ONE WAY with him.

And THAT is probably the biggest reason Trump ain't getting nothing outta congress.
