I don't know, I just ain't feeling it anymore.. The show seems to be losing it's edge.  Many of the lines are over the top and a bit corny.  You got Morgan saying "I don't die", getting up after getting mowed down with machine gun fire. Then their's also Ezekiel and his King Arthur-like gibberish.  Roll Eyes
You got that Jesus dude acting like an idiot even after that guy tried to kill him.   And also much of it is close ups of characters faces in slo-mo action with silly new age music in the background.
It almost feel like the writers are on strike or just loosing their creative mojo.

I agree with you. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I no longer look forward to seeing the show every Sunday with the anticipation I used to. I think the story needs a major shakeup, something completely unexpected. Maybe a major death that completely alters the trajectory of the storylines.

You know what would be a fun? A half-season of "Walking Dead: Imagine." In this six-episode standalone series, the story is "reimagined" and takes off in a completely new direction. It can start with, "What if Shane killed Rick instead of the other way around?" The show would generally feature characters that are no longer on the regular show: Shane, Lori, Glenn, Herschel, Andrea, Beth, Merle and T-Dawg. The only current "Walking Dead" cast member who would retain a spot here would be Daryl. The group would flee Herschel's farm and never encounter the prison. Instead, they'd go another way and find a small shopping mall.

It's simple; the writing sucks.

I dunno.  I hadn't watched season 6 or 7.  I just binge watched em a couple weeks ago to catch up.

I think it's fine.  But I don't think it was ever "amazing."  There've been plot holes and stupid things since the first season.  Those plot holes and stupid things are still there, they're just starting to restore civilization and change the story up a bit and I think that's a fascinating twist on its own.

I enjoyed last season.  Just referring to the 2 episodes so far in season 8.

I think the problem that the Walking Dead has is that its cast of characters has gotten too large. As a result, it's hard to give each character enough screen time or storyline.

Who are your favorite characters? Mine are, in order:

1. Daryl
2. Michonne
3. Morgan
4. Rick
5. Rosita
6. Jerry (Ezekiel's assistant)
7. Maggie
8. Jesus
9. Ezekiel
10. Negan

I wish these guys would die already:

1. Gregory
2. Eugene
3. Tara
4. The hippy guy who killed Ezekiel's young protege
5. Carl

It's a zombie show. It's a zombie show where no one knows what a zombie is. The writing, for the last couple of seasons, in my opinion, is off.

I think you're on to something. The walking dead, in the past, was more about relationships than zombies or killing in general.
